The homeowner called about a soft, permanently wet patch beside the driveway and a water bill that had climbed by roughly forty dollars a month with no change in habits. The system itself appeared to run normally, which is typical of a mainline leak: the pipe is under pressure around the clock, so the loss never shows up as a weak zone.
We closed the irrigation supply and watched the meter, which confirmed continuous flow. Isolating the mainline narrowed the loss to the run between the backflow and the first valve manifold. A single square of sod came up, the break turned out to be a split fitting where the line changed direction, and the section was cut out and replaced with new schedule-40 pipe and couplings.
The meter went still within minutes of the repair. We pressure-tested the mainline, re-laid the sod and re-ran every zone with the homeowner watching. The wet patch was dry within a week.
A zone stuck on or water surfacing in the yard gets a same-day or next-morning slot.
We come out, run the system, and quote the repair at no charge when you go ahead.
Swing joints, proper bedding and sleeved crossings — so the same break does not come back.
Send the details and we will come back with a time slot and a realistic price range, usually the same business day.
